Welcome to Texas Flag Football Association
The Texas Flag Football Association (TFFA) and Texas Flag Newsletter will enter its forth year in existence. Our sport has come a long way and the best way to insure its continued growth is the development of an all flag football organization and sanctioning body that will provide a vehicle for participation such as tournaments and also provide news and information to leagues and teams around the state.

Super Shootout 1998
Spring State Championships
The Super Shootout Ninth Annual Spring State Tournament will be held in San Antonio on Memorial Weekend on May 23-24, 1998. This years championship will be moved to Olmos Basin Sports Complex just North of Downtown San Antonio. Arrangements have been made to accommodate more teams than the 38 that participated in 1997, and all indications point towards that figure being surpassed.
Special thanks must go out to our host hotels, Holiday Inn / North West, a full-service hotel located off IH10 and Loop 410, and La Quinta / Lackland, which is located on Hwy 90 and Military Hwy; both are within 20 minutes of the tournament site.
So plan on spending your holiday weekend in San Antonio; a super competitive tournament as well as Sea World, Fiesta Texas and our Famous River Walk that will provide fun for the entire family!
See you in San Antonio and Good Luck at the State Tournament.

TFFA State Qualifiers continue to grow
Laredo has placed itself on the Flag Football map with its Second Annual "Sonic Blast Shootout" Spring Tournament held on February 28 - March 1, 1998. Twenty teams competed with the Valley X-treme winning the tournament over the El Paso Stars. The Austin Headhunters placed third. Laredo will return to host a Fall State Qualifier for the South Region in October.
Lackland AFB hosted the Central Qualifier on February 7 - 8, 1998 with Austin teams dominating the tournament. The Austin Patriots won over second place Austins Most Wanted and third place Austin Headhunters. Twenty-one teams participated more than doubling the amount of teams that took part last year.
The Dallas Oak Cliff Invitational took place on May 2 - 3, 1998 with the Austin Patriots winning again, but this time, over the Dallas Blitz and again Austin Headhunters placing third. This was the first ever TFFA tournament held in the Dallas area, but we will return in September for the Fall North State Qualifier and hopefully next Spring as well.
